Job summary

The Bergaila Companies is seeking an Instrument & Controls Commissioning & Start-Up Technician: Lead Critical Operations for a premier LNG facility in Sabine Pass, TX. You will drive commissioning, startup, and turnover of I&C systems, with emphasis on GE Mark VI turbine controls and integration with the plant DCS.

Candidate brings 5+ years of LNG/I&C experience, strong calibration and testing skills, and a proven track record of documentation and turnover.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of I&C experience in LNG, gas processing, or cryogenic facilities with commissioning/startup involvement.
• Hands-on experience with GE Mark VI turbine controls, instrument calibration, loop checks and functional testing.
• Strong understanding of process measurement technologies (pressure, temperature, flow, level) and online analyzers.
• Ability to interpret P&IDs, control narratives, and loop drawings.
• Proven success in system turnover, punch closure, and documentation compliance.

I&C Commissioning & Start-Up Technician: V - Lead Critical Operations at a Premier LNG Facility

Are you an experienced Instrument & Controls (I&C) professional ready to play a pivotal role in a cutting-edge LNG project? We're seeking a skilled I&C Technician - with strong expertise in GE Mark VI turbine controls - to lead commissioning, startup, and system turnover activities at a major facility in Sabine Pass, TX. This is your chance to be at the forefront of a high-stakes operation, ensuring the safe and reliable startup of state-of-the-art plant systems.

What You'll Do

• Execute and oversee loop checks, calibration, functional testing, and commissioning of instrumentation and control systems, including GE Mark VI turbine controls.
• Verify systems are designed, installed, tested, and documented in strict adherence to project specifications and safety standards.
• Lead system completion and turnover, ensuring all documentation, punch lists, and operational readiness criteria are met.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in instrumentation and control systems to maintain project timelines and safety protocols.
• Support turbine and process unit startup, integrating Mark VI control systems with the plant DCS and field instrumentation.
• Maintain instrument preservation, secure critical spares, and ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
• Collaborate seamlessly with Operations, Engineering, and Construction teams to align on system readiness and startup priorities.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of I&C experience in LNG, gas processing, or cryogenic facilities, with direct involvement in commissioning and startup activities.
• Proven hands-on experience with GE Mark VI turbine controls, instrument calibration, loop checks, and functional testing.
• Strong understanding of process measurement technologies (pressure, temperature, flow, level) and online analyzers (GCs, moisture, gas quality).
• Ability to interpret P&IDs, control narratives, and loop drawings accurately.
• Demonstrated success in system turnover, punch closure, and documentation compliance.

Nice To Have Skills

• Experience with plant DCS integration and control system troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with safety and environmental testing procedures.
• Additional certifications in instrumentation or control systems.
• Ability to work extended hours, night shifts, and support field activities during critical milestones.

Preferred Education & Experience

• Technical degree or equivalent in instrumentation, controls, or related engineering field preferred.
• Extensive hands-on commissioning experience specifically within LNG or cryogenic facilities.

Other Requirements

• Must have or obtain a valid TWIC card for onsite access.
• Willingness to work M-F, 10-hour days, with potential for extended hours or night shifts.
• Duration: through August 2027, with ongoing opportunities.
