Hyundai Exterior Design Creative Manager
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Confidently execute design themes from concept to production.
- Be the guiding example of professionalism, experience, and positivity for younger designers to follow.
- Be an expert in your field.
- Have a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in automotive design or significant work on concept and/or production cars.
- Demonstrate the ability to lead a team on a design program from start to finish, including model building in Korea.
- Collaborate with Design Management on project planning, timing, and capacity.
- Present design concepts eloquently both verbally and visually.
- Meet with press as required.
- Lead by example.
- Have a thorough understanding of automotive engineering aspects.
- Take over and objectively complete designs from other designers.
- Digitally model designs to a level suitable for milling.
- Mentor younger designers.
- Work independently with minimal direction.
- Sketch and model designs using Alias and/or Maya.
- Understand and respond to engineering requirements.
- Create compelling design proposals in sketches, renderings, and 3D models.
- Create digital line plans (3D tape drawings) of themes.
- Research and analyze trends in packaging, materials, and design, reporting findings to management.
- Meet with management, engineering, marketing, and design teams to discuss and incorporate design criteria.
- Develop designs over engineering packages using Alias and/or Maya.
- Oversee model development by clay and CAS sculptors and fabricators.
HOW WILL YOU MAKE AN IMPACT
- Have cars in production or show cars.
- Proficient in Photoshop, Alias, VRed, and PowerPoint.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Automotive, or Transportation Design.
- 10+ years of experience.
- Coordinate with engineering and manufacturing to meet styling and manufacturing requirements.
- Create high-quality publication images for press releases and brochures.
- Oversee vendors producing concept vehicles for auto shows worldwide.
- Travel to Korea to oversee product development with Namyang Design and Engineering teams.
- Benchmark competitive vehicles to guide design direction.
- Willing to travel up to 20% domestically and internationally.
- Legal authorization to work in the US is required for Hyundai KIA applicants.

Compensation Range: $159,285 – $229,215
