Job summary

Shelter House, Inc. is seeking a Hypothermia Coordinator for the Loudoun Homeless Services Center program. The role supports the November–April hypothermia operation, setting up space, assisting participants, and coordinating logistics to ensure safety and dignity for shelter guests.

Responsibilities include orienting participants, distributing meals, managing bedding, and maintaining logs, while coordinating with case management and emergency services as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or commensurate experience.
• 1+ year of customer service experience.
• Willingness to work evenings and weekends when needed.
• Valid Driver's License and clean driving record.
• Ability to proficiently operate a personal computer and Microsoft Office products.

Responsibilities

• Ensure smooth running of the hypothermia program and a safe, welcoming environment for participants.
• Monitor participant safety and count throughout shifts.
• Document site walkthroughs to ensure safety of the building and participants.
• Organize and pass out cots and bedding; maintain cleanliness of the hypothermia area.
• Record interactions and update logs; report any incidents to supervision.
