Job summary

BD is seeking a Manufacturing Operator in USA NE - Columbus to operate equipment safely, perform quality checks, and support line efficiencies. This role requires attention to detail, teamwork, and adherence to GMP standards.

Experience with MES/SAP is a plus, with on-site collaboration emphasized for rapid problem solving. The position emphasizes consistent attendance, basic troubleshooting, and willingness to support multiple shifts as needed.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • Two years manufacturing experience required in lieu of diploma.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operate equipment and perform quality inspections to meet documentation.
  • Perform changeovers, line clearance and basic cleaning.
  • Enter SAP data accurately and promptly.
  • Maintain GMP standards and safe work practices.
  • Cross-train within the department to support operations.
  • Troubleshoot equipment at a basic level and perform rework as needed.
  • Support material movements and clean room activities.

Job Description

Responsible for operating equipment in department safely and producing quality products per documentation. Perform quality checks, changeovers, SAP data entries, and basic troubleshooting. Ensures compliance with BD quality systems, policies, procedures and best practices, and all local, state, federal and BD safety regulations, policies and procedures. Regular, punctual attendance is an essential job function. Willing and able to uphold BD Values.

Duties/Responsibilities
  • Work as one of a team for maximum effectiveness and optimal task methods, which includes product inspection, operating equipment, raw material and finished goods movements and clean room area and equipment cleaning / sanitizing
  • Perform visual inspections
  • Perform basic troubleshooting of equipment
  • Perform changeovers, line clearance and cleaning
  • Achieve production rate and quality goals on assigned equipment
  • Facilitate continuous operation of the equipment through breaks
  • Perform rework
  • Cross train where needed within the department to support the business
  • Maintain all quality and GMP standards
  • Perform needed SAP data entries
  • May require the use of 10x microscope, calipers, and/or other miscellaneous gauges
  • Participate on blitz teams as assigned
  • Other duties as required to support the needs of the business
Education
  • High School diploma/GED preferred
  • In lieu of High School diploma/GED, two years manufacturing experience is required
Experience
  • Previous manufacturing experience preferred
  • Previous experience with MES preferred
  • Previous experience with precision measuring instruments preferred
