Job summary

The University of Minnesota invites applications for a research faculty position in Aerospace Engineering and Mechanics to advance Minnesota Aerospace Complex efforts in hypersonics, high-fidelity modeling, and multi-physics simulations. A PhD and strong research record are required.

The role may include teaching responsibilities and collaboration with the hypersonics group and government/industry partners. Salary is commensurate with qualifications.

Qualifications

• PhD in aerospace engineering or related field.
• Two or more years of research training.
• Excellent analytical and computer programming skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and effective work with other research staff.
• Excellent organizational, presentation and writing skills.
• Demonstrated self-motivation and creativity.

Responsibilities

• Modeling & Simulation Research and Application (80%) in hypersonics and high-fidelity methods.
• Leadership and Mentoring (10%) including guidance to graduate students and post-docs.
• Publications and Reporting (10%) including writing technical reports and papers.
