Job summary

Castelion Corporation in Torrance, CA is seeking a Senior Thermal & TPS Integration Engineer to design and integrate thermal protection systems for long-range hypersonic vehicles. You will lead analyses, hardware builds, and qualification tests in a fast-paced, hardware-driven program.

You will collaborate with structures, materials, aerothermal, GNC, and manufacturing teams; mentor junior engineers; optimize mass and thermal performance; and help ensure mission success under extreme aerothermal

Qualifications

• Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field
• 5+ years of experience in thermal protection system design, analysis, and validation for aerospace or high-temperature applications
• Proficiency in thermal and structural analysis tools and high-temperature testing methods

Responsibilities

• Design and develop TPS across the vehicle, including heat shields and leading-edge protection systems
• Lead architecture and integration of TPS with primary structure and subsystems
• Perform thermal and thermal-structural analyses for extreme aerothermal environments
• Support prototyping, hardware bring-up, and root cause analyses of TPS issues
• Define and execute qualification and environmental test plans including arc-jet and furnace tests
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration
