Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions seeks a GNC Engineer to prototype and develop guidance, navigation and control for a hypersonic spaceplane in Seal Beach, CA. Onsite role requiring an active TS/SCI clearance.

You will design, verify and implement GNC algorithms for spacecraft, re-entry vehicles and airborne platforms. Responsibilities include developing 6 DOF simulations, validating GN&C software, and collaborating across systems engineering, avionics and test teams to enable rapid prototype to flight

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field; 5+ years of experience.
• Experience with aircraft, missiles, spacecraft or autonomous platforms.
• Proficiency with MATLAB and Simulink.
• Experience developing GN&C algorithms, models and simulations.
• Programming in C/C++, Python or C#.
• Active TS/SCI clearance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain 6 DOF dynamics simulations for mission assessment.
• Implement and validate GN&C flight software and integrate with testbeds.
• Apply astrodynamics and flight mechanics to mission design and trajectory optimization.
• Support re-entry guidance, navigation and flight control development.
• Create autonomy tools and guidance laws for space and atmospheric operations.
• Troubleshoot operational issues and develop test procedures.
• Collaborate with systems engineering, avionics and test teams.
• Identify inefficiencies and build reusable tools.
