Job summary

Torch Technologies is seeking a Hypersonic Aeropropulsion Test Analyst to support the 715th Test Squadron at AEDC, Arnold AFB, TN, onsite. You will plan, execute, and analyze ground tests, coordinating with facility engineers and stakeholders to ensure safe, effective testing.

The role requires a bachelor's in aerospace/mechanical engineering or related field, 3+ years in aeropropulsion or hypersonics, proficiency in MATLAB/Python, and ability to obtain/maintain a Secret DoD clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a highly related technical field.
• 3+ years of relevant experience in aeropropulsion, wind tunnel testing, or hypersonic aerodynamics.
• Proficiency in data analysis and engineering software (e.g., MATLAB, Python, or similar).
• Familiarity with high-speed/hypersonic propulsion systems and compressible flow dynamics.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and analyze hypersonic aeropropulsion ground tests for AEDC’s 715th Test Squadron.
• Analyze aerodynamic, thermodynamic, and propulsion data from test facilities (e.g., APTU).
• Develop comprehensive test plans, matrices, and safety packages with facility engineers and stakeholders.
• Utilize data acquisition systems and post-test data reduction tools to evaluate scramjet, ramjet, and other high-speed systems.
• Collaborate with test facility personnel, government customers, and prime contractors to meet test objectives.
• Generate technical reports, data packages, briefings, and presentations to communicate results and anomalies.

The 715 TS operates world-class aerodynamic and propulsion test facilities, and this role is critical to advancing the nation's hypersonic weapon and flight systems. This position is located onsite at Arnold AFB, TN.As a Test Analyst, your duties will include the following, but are not limited to:Supporting the 715th Test Squadron at the Arnold Engineering Development Complex (AEDC) in the planning, execution, and analysis of hypersonic aeropropulsion ground testing.Analyzing aerodynamic, thermodynamic, and propulsion data from ground test facilities (such as the Aerodynamic and Propulsion Test Unit - APTU).Developing comprehensive test plans, test matrices, and safety packages in coordination with facility engineers and program stakeholders.Utilizing data acquisition systems and post-test data reduction tools to evaluate scramjet, ramjet, and other high-speed propulsion system performance.Collaborating with test facility personnel, government customers, and prime contractors to ensure test objectives are safely and effectively met.Generating technical reports, data packages, briefings, and presentations to communicate test results and anomalies to stakeholders.Required Qualifications:U.S. CitizenshipEducation - Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a highly related technical field. Additional experience may be substituted for education with customer approval.3+ years of relevant experience in aeropropulsion, wind tunnel testing, or hypersonic aerodynamics.Proficiency in data analysis and engineering software (e.g., MATLAB, Python, or similar).Familiarity with high-speed/hypersonic propulsion systems and compressible flow dynamics.Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical data clearly.Must be able to obtain/maintain Secret DoW security clearance.
