Job summary

Fluidstack seeks an experienced infrastructure engineer to own end-to-end physical data center networks for hyperscale deployments. You will design and implement fiber plant architectures, transceiver planning, and structured cabling, working with cross-functional teams.

The role requires deep knowledge of 400G/800G optics, DCIM integration, and port mapping, with equity-based compensation and generous PTO.

Qualifications

• Designed hyperscale or cloud-provider data center networks (1000+ racks, 100K+ fiber strands).
• Expert in structured cabling systems (Corning, Panduit, CommScope) and MPO/MTP ecosystems.
• Knowledge of optical standards (IEEE 802.3, OIF) and transceiver tech (400G/800G DR4, FR4, LR4, SR8).
• Experience with fiber loss budgets, dispersion, and testing methodologies (OTDR, IL).
• Ability to integrate designs into DCIM tools (NetBox, Remedy).
• Bonus: RCDD certification, coherent DCI, and multi-generation optics roadmapping.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end physical implementation of the data center network for hyperscale sites.
• Collaborate with engineers and construction teams on cabling, power, cooling, and space planning.
• Develop, read, and interpret construction drawings and port-to-fiber mappings at scale.
• Define topology, cabling hierarchy, and optics choices per site and generation.
• Model fiber utilization and capacity across multiple hardware generations.
• Maintain design standards and integration with DCIM tools.
