Job summary

Google is seeking a Senior Staff Data Center Engineer and Technical Lead to guide the physical, electrical, and thermal architecture of our hyperscale data halls. Lead cross-functional teams to deliver modular, factory-assembled solutions while reducing field labor and accelerating capacity worldwide.

You will bridge hardware systems engineering with facility infrastructure, ensure compliance with codes, and drive standardization across global data center programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 12 years of experience in mission critical facility design and construction environments.
• 12 years of experience designing server hall layouts, containment systems, or related infrastructure.
• 12 years of experience with HVAC, liquid cooling, and containment systems.
• People management experience with technical leadership.

Responsibilities

• Define multi-year engineering strategy, standards, and goals for Google's data center fleet.
• Architect physical infrastructure for hyperscale data halls and AI/ML clusters.
• Create and maintain global BoD documents and standardized building blocks.
• Drive design-for-manufacturability and modular design to shorten construction timelines.
• Collaborate across teams and vendors to align capabilities with scaling commitments.
