Job summary

GrayMatter seeks a Commissioning Manager to lead on-site commissioning for critical data center infrastructure projects. You will oversee commissioning teams, coordinate with clients, contractors, and internal teams, and drive quality, safety, and project turnover.

The role requires an associate degree in a technical field, 5+ years in commissioning or controls, and travel to active sites. Proficiency with BMS/EPMS, PLCs, and cross-functional coordination is essential for successful project

Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical equivalent in Electrical/Mechanical/Automation disciplines.
• Minimum 5 years in commissioning, controls, automation, or related field.
• Direct experience with data center infrastructure commissioning is required.
• Experience leading commissioning teams and coordinating with clients, contractors, and internal teams.
• Strong understanding of electrical distribution, HVAC systems, PLC controls, BMS, and EPMS.

Responsibilities

• Lead all on-site commissioning activities from pre-functional testing through IST and turnover.
• Direct Site Leads, Commissioning Engineers, and Technicians; coordinate with stakeholders.
• Serve as primary on-site commissioning representative for clients, contractors and teams.
• Maintain schedules, milestones, resource plans, and risk mitigation.
• Provide technical leadership during startup, testing, and validation of systems.
• Review and approve commissioning documentation and client deliverables.
• Mentor and develop commissioning staff through field leadership.
