Job Summary:
Administers hyperbaric oxygen (HBO) therapy and diagnostic testing to outpatients and inpatients, under the supervision of a hyperbaric physician. Responsible for the effectiveness of service delivery and requires the ability to handle emergencies independently and collaborate with the team on critical decisions when higher level of care is required.
EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION:
Minimum of 1 year of experience plus the ability to show RCP II competency within 6 months of hire/transfer into role is required. Wound, hyperbaric or critical care experience preferred.
EDUCATION DESCRIPTION:
Associate Degree from a CoARC accredited Respiratory Care program is required. CHT certified hyperbaric technician preferred.
SPECIAL SKILLS DESCRIPTION:
Effective communication/interpersonal skills
LICENSURE DESCRIPTION:
State of Wisconsin license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner is required. American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required upon hire. Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) is required. American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is required. Preferred: American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC) and Wisconsin Society for Respiratory Care (WSRC) membership is preferred. CHT Certified Hyperbaric Technician is preferred.
