Job summary

University Health Partners of Hawai'i is seeking a physician to provide medical supervision for hyperbaric chamber treatments and diving medicine programs at Kuakini Medical Center. The role includes on-call coverage, wound care oversight, and participation in teaching and research activities.

Applicants must hold an MD/DO with Hawaii licensure (or eligibility), board certification/eligibility in Hyperbaric Medicine, and current BLS/ACLS.

Qualifications

Medical degree from an accredited school of medicine (MD or DO).
Unrestricted Hawaii medical license or ability to obtain one.
Board eligibility/certification in Hyperbaric Medicine (UHMS related) as applicable.
Completion of UHMS introductory course in Undersea & Hyperbaric Medicine.
Credentialing with Hawaii Pacific Health for EHR access.
Clinical affiliate appointment with JABSOM or equivalent academic affiliation.
Current CPR (BLS) and ACLS certifications.
At least 2 years of patient care experience including emergent/critically ill patients.
Experience supervising allied health personnel.

Responsibilities

Provide medical supervision of chamber treatments for diving disorders and HBO therapy.
On-call onsite within 30 minutes when assigned.
Oversee wound care including debridement and negative pressure therapy.
Participate in medical training programs and research activities.
Provide medical consultations and referrals within the dive medicine community.
Ensure compliance with UHMS/ accreditation standards.
