Job summary

DO & CO AG in Des Plaines, IL is seeking a Hygiene, Food Safety & Quality Assurance Supervisor to lead the company’s hygiene and QA programs across facilities. The role focuses on GMP/HACCP compliance, audits, and continuous improvement of food safety systems to protect product quality and regulatory adherence.

You will develop SOPs, manage audits, train staff, and coordinate with vendors and departments to ensure safe, compliant operations, including nights and weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Food Science, or related field.
• 3–5 years in hygiene, food safety, and quality assurance, preferably in a food manufacturing or catering environment.
• HACCP Certification is required; PCQI and ISO/SQF training preferred.
• Strong command of HACCP, ISO, GMP, SQF, and regulatory food safety systems.
• Demonstrated ability to lead audits, analyze data trends, and implement corrective actions.

Responsibilities

• Develops, implements, and inspects SOPs across facilities, HACCP lines, and food assembly areas.
• Oversees HACCP program documentation, audits, and non-compliance investigations.
• Conducts regular quality control assessments and trend analyses; maintains logs of findings, complaints, and corrective actions.
• Leads GMP, foreign object, hygiene, and HACCP audits and reports findings to operations with recommended corrective actions.
• Provides hygiene and food safety training (new hire, annual, refresher) to all levels of staff.
