Job summary

Family Gentle Dentists in Woodhaven, MI is seeking a Hygiene Assistant to support the dental team with patient care, chairside assistance, and patient preparation for treatment.

You will work Monday-Thursday 8:45am-6:00pm and Friday 8:45am-3:00pm, in a collaborative, patient-focused environment that values teamwork and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Dental Assisting Certification or prior on-the-job training.
• 1-5 years of experience preferred, but new graduates are welcome to apply.
• Radiography/X-Ray certification (state-specific).
• Current CPR certification.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
• A commitment to delivering exceptional service and patient education.

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance to the dental hygienist to prepare the room, seat patients, and take proper documentation of the patients visit.
• Ability to record and review patients' health history, make chart entries under the direction of the Doctor or hygienist, and assures completion of all necessary forms and signatures needed.
• Educate patients on their treatment plans as well as maintaining their oral health.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment possessing excellent interpersonal skills such as establishing positive relationships with our team and patients.
• Ability to communicate professionally both orally and in writing with a service-oriented approach.

Your Role as a Hygiene Assistant

As a Hygiene Assistant, you\'ll collaborate with our practice team to provide outstanding clinical support, ensuring patients receive the care they need. You\'ll prepare patients for treatment, assist the hygienist/dentist in restorative procedures, and maintain a high standard of care and efficiency.
