Lane & Associates Family Dentistry is hiring a Hygiene Assistant in Sanford. The role supports hygienists, handles patient-related clerical duties, and assists with clinical tasks to ensure efficient, high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities include room setup, radiographs, charting, inventory, schedule management, and reinforcing home-care advice. Requires High School Diploma or GED, NC X-ray Certification, and DAI Certification; lifting up to 15–20 lbs. Benefits listed in the posting.

• Ensure treatment rooms are stocked, disinfected, and set up for each appointment.
• Greet patients and introduce the Hygiene Assistant role.
• Update medical history and obtain blood pressure as requested.
• Chart and document procedures; note next recommended treatment.
• Collaborate with clinical staff to maintain clean, organized labs and rooms.
• Document patient conditions and history; record comments.
• Expose digital radiographs.
• Assist with home-care instructions and reinforce treatments.
• Help manage the office recall system.
• Maintain inventory in hygiene rooms and sterilize instruments.
• Participate in shared maintenance duties and perform tasks independently.
• Assist with monitoring the schedule and confirming appointments.

At Lane & Associates Family Dentistry, we love to make our patients smile, and that starts with you!The Hygiene Assistant plays a key role in supporting our hygienists by handling patient-related clerical duties, assisting with clinical tasks, and maintaining chart accuracy. This position helps ensure the hygienist can work efficiently and provide exceptional patient care. Direct patient interaction may vary based on the hygienist’s needs, but the goal is for the Hygiene Assistant to actively contribute, grow their knowledge, and enhance the overall patient experience.

Key Responsibilities

Daily/Weekly/Monthly duties include, but are not limited to:

• Ensure treatment rooms are properly stocked, disinfected, and set up for each appointment
• Greet patients warmly and introduce your role
• Update medical history and obtain blood pressure as requested by the hygienist
• Chart and document all procedures performed; note next recommended treatment

• Expose digital radiographs
• Reinforce hygienist-recommended treatments and home-care instructions

• Participate in shared maintenance duties
• Perform routine tasks independently
• Assist with monitoring the schedule and confirming appointments as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned
