Sonrava Health in Los Angeles is seeking a friendly Hygiene assistant who excels at building rapport with patients and collaborating with the dental team. You will assist clinicians, maintain chair-side efficiency, and help educate patients to improve their comfort and experience.

The role emphasizes accurate chart review, radiographs, infection control, and coordinating lab work. A high school diploma and radiography certification are required, with CPR/BLS preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent required.
• Current radiography certification required.
• Active Dental Assistant license as required by state (CDA/EFDA/EDDA/QDA).
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred.
• Current certification to monitor Nitrous Oxide/Oxygen Analgesia preferred or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service with chair-side manner and teamwork.
• Assist doctor and hygienist with dental procedures and maintain patient service and flow.
• Review patient charts before doctor arrival and document health information and consents.
• Perform Four Handed Dentistry tasks including temporary crowns and seating prosthodontics.
• Take and mount radiographs and intra-oral photos.
• Prep and sterilize equipment and operatory before/after appointments.
• Track lab cases and monitor/order dental supplies.
• Maintain HIPAA confidentiality and OSHA BBP safety policies.

Job description

Overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic Hygiene assistant that loves building and maintaining positive relationships with patients who is flexible, and willing to collaborate with other team members. Your primary role is to provide excellent patient experiences while "in the chair", and overall patient retention.

Responsibilities

Skills/ Abilities

• Provide exceptional customer service, with excellent chair-side manner, while demonstrating teamwork
• Assist the doctor and/or hygienist(s), with dental procedures maintain excellent patient service, integrity, flow.
• Review patient charts prior to doctor arrival, document appropriate patient information and health history during the exam and treatment, ensure all patient consents are completed prior to treatment.
• Four Handed Dentistry- fabricate temporary crowns, place rubber dam, place amalgam and composite restorations, assist with seating permanent/removable prosthodontics, coronal polishing, sealant placement.
• Ability to take, develop and “mount” accurate, high quality radiographs/intra-oral photos.
• Clean, sterilize and prepare the equipment and operatory, prior to and after a patient’s appointment.
• Track the incoming and outgoing lab cases, monitor and order dental supplies.
• Maintain patient confidentiality through HIPAA compliance, follow safety policies and procedures through OSHA compliance and BBP (Blood-borne Pathogens) Ability to multi-task and remain calm in a rapidly changing environment.
• Assist in educating the patients and address their questions and/or concerns to help them feel more comfortable.
• Assist the business administrative team in scheduling patients and submitting referrals as clinically necessary.
• Computer proficiency and the ability to learn new programs.

Qualifications

Education/Certification(s)

• Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent required
• Current radiography certification required.
• Active Dental Assistant/ CDA/ EFDA/ EDDA/ QDA license, as required by state
• Current certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR- BLS) preferred
• Current certification to monitor Nitrous Oxide/Oxygen Analgesia preferred as required by state, or ability to become certified.
