Job summary

Transwest, Inc. is seeking a Hydrovac Technician in Brighton, CO to perform diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of hydrovac units. The role requires experience with diesel trucks/RVs, hydraulics, and electrical systems, with the ability to install heavy components and weld aluminum using MIG/TIG.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license and MVR in good standing; CDL within 90 days.
• 3 years recent mechanic experience; diesel trucks or RVs.
• Experience diagnosing and repairing diesel trucks and/or RVs.
• Experience with hydraulic systems.
• Aluminum MIG and TIG welding experience.
• Familiarity with automotive electronics and 110-volt systems.
• Must obtain refrigerant recovery certification.
• Excellent verbal and communication skills; detail oriented.
• Ability to lift up to 80 lbs and perform heavy component installations.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair vehicles per repair order.
• Verify warranty on repair orders.
• Communicate with parts department to secure parts.
• Save and tag warranty parts.
• Advise shop foreman and provide recommendations if repair order needs adjustment.
• Repair documented in technician comments during each active time punch.
• Road test vehicles as needed for quality assessment.
• Maintain knowledge of factory technical bulletins.
• Ensure customer vehicle cleanliness.
• Maintain neat and orderly work area.
• Accountable for all dealership owned tools.
• Uphold regulations governing disposal of hazardous waste.
• Install components and test operation; troubleshoot in shop and field.
• Install heavy components such as PTOs and pumps.
• Install components in truck cabs and on truck bodies.
• Install and test hydraulic systems.
