Job summary

Hatch is seeking a Water Resources Engineer to join our Hydropower and Dams group in Seattle, WA. The role focuses on water resources, flood control and hydropower projects, with responsibilities for reports, drawings, specifications, and client communication.

Candidates typically hold a Civil/Environmental Engineering degree with 5+ years of experience (or a Master’s with 3+ or a PhD with 2+), and be licensed as a Professional Engineer.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Eng with 5+ years of experience; or Master's with 3+ years; or PhD with 2+ years.
  • Registered Professional Engineer or eligible to become one.
  • Experience in Water Resources, Flood Control, Hydropower sectors.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

  • Manage projects in water resources, flood control and hydropower sectors.
  • Prepare technical reports, drawings, specifications, and correspondence.
  • Develop proposals and present to clients.
  • Conduct hydraulic and hydrologic modeling using HEC and MIKE.
  • Perform GIS analyses for concept presentation.

As the successful candidate, you will:
  • Manage projects concentrated in the water resources, flood control and hydropowersectors with opportunities to participate in the infrastructure and mining/industrialsectors.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports, drawings, specifications, and correspondence.
  • Develop business, writing proposals, and presenting to clients.
  • Undertake technical reviews of documents and technical drawings prepared by theteam
  • Complete Hydraulic and hydrologic modelling and analysis (using HEC and MIKEtools) as well as using GIS tools for analysis and presentation of concepts
You bring to the role:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a relatedengineering discipline with 5+ years of relevant professional experience; or
  • Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a relatedengineering discipline with 3+ years of relevant professional experience; or
  • PhD in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related engineeringdiscipline with 2+ years of relevant professional experience.
  • Registered, or eligible to be registered, and licensed to practice as a ProfessionalEngineer
  • Demonstrated expertise in the Water Resources, Flood Control, Flood Protectionand/or Hydropower sectors
  • Team focused with excellent interpersonal skills and understanding ofmultidisciplinary projects.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communications skills.
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to travel within USA and Internationally on short term assignments asrequired.
  • Collaborate on exciting projects to develop innovative solutions
