Job summary

HDR’s Hydropower Engineering group has an opportunity for a Hydropower Structural EIT/Designer in our Charlotte, NC office. The EIT will work with HDR structural engineers and inspectors on design and construction activities in support of our Hydropower Clients.

In this role, you’ll assist with design and analysis of reinforced concrete and structural steel, prepare reports, perform field documentation, and manage small projects with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering.
• EIT certificate or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Preference for local candidates.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Senior Engineer with design and analysis of reinforced concrete and/or structural steel.
• Assist with engineering reports and memos.
• Note taking and photo documentation of active construction.
• Perform routine engineering assignments using ACI/AISC techniques.
• Complete projects with clear objectives and limited variables.
• Support project management activities for structural design projects.
• Work independently on small projects or with senior engineers on larger ones.
