Job summary
HDR is seeking a Power Project Engineer (Civil, PE) to join our Northern California and West Region team. You will deliver civil design, analysis, and evaluations for hydropower, dam safety, and power delivery projects, collaborating across disciplines to provide practical, high‑quality solutions.
The role includes project management responsibilities, mentorship of junior staff, and coordination with national networks to support nationwide project delivery and eventual expansion into pumped
Qualifications
- Requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- Experience in Power market sector project execution.
- Proficiency with Power Market sector design software.
- Experience mentoring engineers and coordinating across teams.
Responsibilities
- Lead civil design for hydropower and dam infrastructure.
- Prepare and review drawings, calculations, reports, and specs.
- Coordinate civil interfaces across disciplines (structural, mechanical, electrical, geotechnical, hydraulic).
- Mentor early‑career engineers and support design reviews.
- Manage scope, schedule, budget, quality, and client coordination for multidisciplinary projects.
