Job summary

Encon Heating & AC is seeking an experienced HVAC professional to install and service geothermal, hydronic, radiant heating, and related systems in Connecticut. The role requires reading blueprints, executing precise piping work, and ensuring compliance with building codes.

You will troubleshoot, install boilers, and coordinate with project teams while maintaining top safety standards. Responsibilities include technical installation, bill of materials, and aiding project updates.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required.
• Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and blueprints.
• Knowledge of safety practices related to the trade.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Professional attitude, self-motivated, adaptable and a team player.
• Strong communication, written and verbal.
• Ten or more years of experience in the field.

Responsibilities

• Install geothermal, hydronic, radiant heating systems, hot water heaters, gas piping, snow melt, geo systems and chiller systems.
• Set up boilers, hot water heaters and gas piping, chillers and geo systems.
• Troubleshoot and wire systems.
• Work with copper, PEX, black iron and victaulic piping.
• Use soldering, ProPress, fusion welding, and victaulic grooving.
• Read blueprints and create materials lists.
• Balance water systems and check for issues.
• Ensure compliance with building codes.
• Assist with project updates and work orders.
• Support project team and report issues.
• Perform other related tasks as needed.

Specific Responsibilities:

• Install geothermal, hydronic, radiant heating systems, hot water heaters, gas piping, snow melt, geo systems, and chiller systems.
• Set up boilers, hot water heaters, and gas piping, chillers and geo systems.
• Troubleshoot and wiring.

Requirements

Required Skills and Experience:

• High School Diploma
• Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and blueprints.
• Knowledge of normal safety practices pertaining to the trade.
• Exceptional customer service skills
• Professional attitude with strong interpersonal skills, self-motivated, flexible and team player
• Good communication skills; written and verbal
• Positive attitude with good organizational skills. Ability to organize and prioritize tasks
• Minimum 10 years of experience

Eligibility Requirements

• Valid drivers license.
• OSHA 10 or 30
• S or D license CT trade license
• Employment/education will be verified.
• Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis

Physical Requirements

• Able to work in a variety of extreme weather, hot and cold conditions.
• Able to work safely in confined spaces such as attics, basements, closets, and crawl spaces.
• Able to work safely at elevated heights such as rooftops, ceilings, and ladders.
• Able to bend, crawl, stoop, stretch, and reach.
• Able to walk on uneven surfaces.
• Able to work off a ladder, sometimes at heights.
• Able to safely lift 50 pounds.
