Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan Inc. seeks an employee to safely operate processing equipment in a solution-extraction plant at a highly skilled level.

You will monitor SX processes, collect samples, adjust flows, and help ensure safe, efficient concentration operations in a mining setting. The role requires knowledge of hydromet processing, pipelines and valve systems, and the ability to work in a potentially stressful mine environment with non-standard schedules.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years of experience in Hydromet processing operations.
• Knowledge of Solution-Extraction and Leach Flow Sheets.
• Knowledge of proper shut-down and start-up procedures of copper sulphate and tank house electrolyte transfer systems.
• Knowledge of pipelines and valve systems.
• Complete academic and practical competencies and pass a written assessment if required.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor SX processes (e.g., PLS, SX circuit, electrolyte tank).
• Collect and analyze plant samples and adjust flows.
• Perform maintenance and inspections of pipelines, pumps, motors, and related equipment.
• Provide guidance and training to fellow employees as needed.
• Work in a mine/manufacturing plant environment with exposure to temperature, chemicals, and moving parts.
