Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan is seeking an Hydromet EW Operator Trainee in Tyrone, NM to support the electro-winning process and equipment maintenance. The role involves assisting with cell maintenance, cathode handling, and operating mobile equipment in a heavy industrial setting.

The candidate should have at least three months of related experience and be willing to work rotating shifts in a 24/7 operation. The company offers a comprehensive benefits package and training opportunities.

Qualifications

• Three (3) months experience in mining/manufacturing or related industrial fields.
• Completion of required academic and practical competencies per internal LOP rules.
• Ability to pass safety assessments and written tests as required.

Responsibilities

• Safely operates electro-winning processes and maintains electrolytic cells.
• Assists with cell maintenance, cleaning, leaks repair, and equipment checks.
• Harvests copper cathodes and assists with cathode/blank maintenance.
• Operates mobile equipment such as overhead cranes and forklifts.
• Performs housekeeping and other duties as required.
