Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan Inc. in New Mexico is seeking candidates for an on-site role at the Tyrone copper mining complex. The position involves electro-winning process duties, cell maintenance, and related mining operations in a safety-focused environment.

The ideal candidate has 3 months of experience in mining/manufacturing or industrial operations and can pass required competencies and safety assessments. A rotating shift in a 24/7 operation may be required.

Qualifications

• 3 months experience in mining/manufacturing/industrial operations
• Completed competencies and safety requirements; may include a written assessment

Responsibilities

• Safely operates the electro-winning process and maintains electrolytic cells
• Assist with cell maintenance: draining cells, inspecting for damage, fixing leaks, cleaning, and board replacement
• Harvest copper cathodes and perform related tasks (blank maintenance, cathode pressing, shipping)
• Assist with cutting cathode samples, washing cell lines, and scrap processing
• Operate mobile equipment such as overhead cranes and forklifts; support routine maintenance
• Perform area housekeeping and other duties as required
