Job Description
Job Summary
  • Set up, operate, and monitor a Hydromat transfer machine (multiple machining stations connected by transfer mechanisms) to safely and consistently produce metal parts to print, performing operations such as drilling, boring, tapping, and milling. This role is available on Day or Night shift; hours and shift assignment will be discussed during screening based on business needs and candidate preference.
Key Responsibilities
  • Load 12-foot bars into the bar feeder.
  • Set up, operate, and monitor Hydromat transfer machines to meet quality and productivity targets.
  • Run machining operations such as drilling, boring, tapping, and milling to print requirements.
  • Use precision gauges and measuring instruments to verify parts and make offsets/adjustments as needed.
  • Change cutting tools when worn or broken using appropriate hand tools.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation using 5S techniques.
  • Complete required production documentation (production cards, layout sheets, and programs).
  • Perform other related duties and assignments as required.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • 4+ years of Hydromat operation experience.
  • Ability to read prints accurately, make adjustments, and understand GD&T.
  • Basic shop math and basic algebra skills to calculate variables and formulas.
  • Ability to work effectively with a team to solve production and quality problems.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence, and memos.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to exert 20–50 pounds of force occasionally and 10–25 pounds of force frequently.
  • Must be able to frequently use hands, work with depth perception, focus at close range (20 inches or less), maintain balance, and extend hands/arms in any direction.
  • Must be able to occasionally kneel, crouch, stoop, and communicate; and to hear, use fine finger dexterity, feel with fingertips, and identify and distinguish colors.
Work Environment
  • Exposure to loud manufacturing noise.
  • Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts; oils/solvents; fumes/odors/mists/gases; and ventilation conditions that may affect the respiratory system, eyes, or skin. Required personal protective equipment (PPE).
