Job summary

The Natural Resources Student Employee at Truckee Meadows Water Authority (TMWA) will support the Natural Resources Team with hydrology/hydrogeology, Water Rights and Lands tasks, working independently and professionally to help ensure reliable drinking water for the community.

Responsibilities include groundwater and surface water monitoring, data management and regulatory reporting, plus field support for well activities and data collection.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate/graduate student pursuing Natural Resources or Environmental Science.
• Must maintain a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA (provide unofficial transcript)

Responsibilities

• Groundwater monitoring, including water level measurements, transducer downloads and data management.
• Surface water monitoring, including stream gaging and water quality sampling at treatment plants.
• Administrative support for Hydrology/Hydrogeology staff including data QA/QC and regulatory reporting.
• Administrative support for Lands staff, including quality control check of record scans.
• Administrative support for Water Rights staff, including routine filings and deliveries to state offices.
• General field support including well drilling, well rehabilitation, and meter reads.
