Maricopa County Flood Control District is seeking a Hydrologist to manage a large network of water-level gages and perform hydrologic computations used for planning and emergency response. The role supports data collection, analysis, and reporting for first responders and residents of Maricopa County.

Ideal candidates will have 4+ years in hydrology or senior engineering work, a relevant bachelor's degree, and experience with hydrologic data collection, Excel, hydraulics software, and GIS tools

Qualificações

• Four years of professional hydrology experience or pre-registration civil engineering experience.
• Four years of experience leading and performing senior-level technical engineering work.
• Bachelor’s degree in Hydrology, Engineering (Civil, Environmental, etc), Surveying, Geography, Environmental Science, Geology, or related field.

Responsabilidades

• Manage a very large network of water-level gages, data collection and reporting.
• Develop discharge ratings for complex streams and hydraulics.
• Model natural streams, engineered channels, hydraulic structures, and basins.
• Oversee locations for new water-level gages and installation to standards.
• QA/QC stream gage data and store in database for historic records.
• Provide expert knowledge on public safety to emergency managers.
