Job summary

Montgomery & Associates in Tucson, AZ seeks a full-time Project Hydrogeologist to join our team. You will split time between fieldwork and office tasks, focusing on water-well drilling, lithologic characterization, well construction, sampling, and aquifer testing.

The role offers growth opportunities in project management and leadership within a West Coast–or Southwest-based practice. We value 4–7 years of hydrogeology experience, a geology-related degree, strong organizational and communication

Qualifications

• 4–7 years of field-based hydrogeological site characterization experience.
• Degree in geology, hydrology, or related field.
• Experience with well drilling, construction, and aquifer testing.
• Willingness to travel to field locations.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in varied terrains.
• Effective communication with diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Plan and supervise field tasks for hydrogeological characterization studies.
• Provide technical guidance within a multidisciplinary team.
• Oversee well installation, development, and documentation to specs.
• Lead aquifer tests and other field investigations.
• Measure water levels and manage project datasets.
• Install instrumentation for groundwater monitoring.
• Develop scopes of work, sampling and safety plans.
• Prepare lithologic logs, hydrographs, maps, and reports.
• Present program results to clients in meetings.
