Montgomery & Associates in Tucson, Arizona seeks a Staff Hydrogeologist to join our team. This full‑time role blends fieldwork (70%) and office work (30%), focusing on water-well drilling, lithologic logging, well construction, sampling, and aquifer testing.

Qualifications include a geology/hydrogeology degree and 0–3 years of related experience. You'll work across the western US, with travel up to 14 days on projects, and receive company training, safety programs, and opportunities for career

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in geology, hydrogeology, or a closely related field.
• 0–3 years of professional geologist/hydrogeologist experience.
• Experience in well drilling, lithologic logging, well construction, and aquifer testing or relevant coursework.
• Ability to interpret geologic conditions in bedrock and basin-fill environments.
• Strong analytical skills in hydrographs and aquifer-test analysis.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar software.
• Clear technical writing and strong communication skills.

Aufgaben

• Observe drilling operations and describe drill cuttings, log hydrogeologic conditions, and interpret borehole logs.
• Oversee monitor and production well installation, inspecting materials and verifying specs.
• Document well development, rehabilitation, and pump installation.
• Conduct aquifer characterization including pumping, packer, and slug tests.
• Measure water levels and download data from dataloggers.
• Collect samples and prepare chain-of-custody documentation for labs.
• Install and maintain groundwater/surface water monitoring instruments and telemetry systems.
• Prepare data summaries, maps, lithologic logs, hydrographs, and technical reports.
