Job summary

Air Products is seeking a driven Operations Technician for the HyCO4 facility in La Porte, TX. You will monitor hydrogen production processes, operate DCS, and perform inspections with a strong emphasis on safety and efficiency.

Responsibilities include safety permit issuance, maintenance coordination, and collaboration with engineering to improve plant performance. This safety-sensitive role requires flexibility and a teamwork mindset.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Process Technology certificate or degree a plus.
• Experience in industrial gas, refining, or petrochemical facilities preferred.
• Ability to read/understand piping and instrumentation drawings.
• Electrical, instrument, or mechanical maintenance experience a plus.
• Willing to work a rotating day/night schedule and holidays/weekends.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control hydrogen production processes, including steam systems, compressors, rotating equipment, and DCS operations.
• Perform equipment inspections and minor maintenance activities.
• Issue Safety Work Permits and manage Lock-Out/Tag Out.
• Follow Site Work Instruction Manuals and EH&S standards.
• Collaborate with engineering functions to resolve plant process issues and improve unit efficiency.
• Perform routine rounds and preventative maintenance tasks.
