Job summary

Thompson Construction Group, Inc. in Sumter, South Carolina seeks a skilled supervisor to direct welding, pipe insulation, steam fitting, cutting and brazing activities on site and in shop environments. You will analyze work orders and blueprints to plan supplies and operations.

Responsibilities include welding, machining, fabrication, rigging, crane operation, turbine assembly, and routine maintenance. 5+ years experience and CDL preferred; competitive compensation and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 5+ years of construction experience or hydroelectric turbine related work preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Experience with micrometers or dial indicators for precision measurement.
• Overhead crane rigging and crane operation knowledge helpful.

Responsibilities

• Perform disassembly, repair, dimension collection, and reassembly of components in field or shop.
• Welding, machining, and fabrication using common welding and cutting processes.
• Supervise projects on field sites or in the shop with daily reports and safety meetings.
• Perform millwright functions on project sites or in the shop.
• Perform precision measurements and rigging, crane operation, turbine assembly.
• Cavitation repairs to turbine components in various locations.
• Maintain and calibrate turbine tools and equipment.
• Inspect rigging and lifting equipment and replace as needed.
