Job summary

Emerson is seeking a Hydro Production Technician in Amherst, WI. If you are mechanically inclined, you will assemble, inspect, and test components per drawings and specs to ensure quality and reliability of critical power and water systems.

You will use calipers, micrometers, gauges and hydraulic test equipment, collaborate with engineering and quality teams, and maintain a safe, productive work environment while following safety policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems and components.
• Ability to select, use, and maintain hand and power tools safely.
• Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and drawings.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and work from mechanical drawings, schematics, specifications, and docs to support assembly and testing.
• Assemble mechanical components and product assemblies per drawings and quality standards.
• Perform visual and dimensional inspections to verify conformance to requirements.
• Read machining drawings, GD&T, tolerances, and callouts.
• Use calipers, micrometers, gauges, and hardness testers for inspection and documentation.
• Conduct functional, pressure, and hydrostatic testing with hydraulic equipment following safety procedures.
• Verify incoming materials meet quality requirements with documentation review.
• Identify and communicate nonconforming materials per quality processes.
• Record inspection data and maintain production and testing records.
• Support continuous improvement to enhance product quality and efficiency.
• Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to resolve issues.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and follow safety policies.
