Job summary

The Hungry Horse Field Office of the Bureau of Reclamation oversees planning, design, testing, operation, and maintenance of critical electro‑mechanical systems for the hydroelectric powerplant and dam. Responsibilities include maintenance on generators, transformers, switchgear, pumps, HVAC, water systems, and high‑voltage equipment up to 230 kV.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform electrical work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for electrical systems.
• Knowledge of electrical equipment used in hydroelectric facilities.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, test, operate and maintain electro‑mechanical systems supporting the hydroelectric powerplant and dam.
• Perform emergency and preventive maintenance on generators, transformers, switchgear, pumps, cranes, HVAC, and water systems.
• Maintain monitoring and protection equipment, LAN and security, and high‑voltage systems up to 230 kV.
