Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in design, construction, or maintenance of electrical systems for electric utility assets.
• Engineer In Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) status or candidate.
• Experience with power generation equipment, grid interfaces, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Conduct engineering design for electrical systems supporting reliability and efficiency of power generation assets.
• Develop design change packages and as-built drawings, manage document control.
• Lead bid package preparation, evaluate vendor bids, oversee contractors.
• Create electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and construction documents using CAD.
• Manage projects scheduling, budgets, and resources; coordinate with internal and external teams.
• Identify risks and coordinate with agencies, field crews, and contractors.
• Perform field investigations to verify design compliance and update records.
• Represent SMUD in technical meetings with stakeholders.
