Job summary

Congruex seeks a Hydro Vac Operator to perform safe, accurate hydro excavation under the supervision of the Construction Manager. You will operate equipment, execute excavation tasks, ensure quality of your work, and comply with safety requirements on job sites.

This role requires inspecting sites for hazards, reading blueprints, and communicating with local officials, staff, and customers. Travel between sites is expected; CDL with Tankers Endorsement and DOT Medical Card are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• CDL + Tankers Endorsement and DOT Medical Card required.
• Ability to pass pre-employment background check and drug test.

Responsibilities

• Continually inspect work sites for hazards and ensure safety.
• Operate hydro excavation vacuum trucks and related equipment safely.
• Excavate and remove soil and debris using hydro excavation techniques.
• Pothole existing utilities with precision and care.
• Ensure proper disposal of excavated materials.
• Track materials, aggregates, and project requirements.
• Communicate with officials, management, customers, and stakeholders.
• Report status daily to Construction/Project Manager.

Job Summary:

The Hydro Vac Operator will perform safe, accurate, and timely hydro excavation work under the supervision of the Construction Manager. The Operator will be responsible for operating equipment, executing excavation tasks, quality of their own work, and compliance with all safety requirements and regulations on job sites

Key Responsibilities (Including, but not limited to):

• Continually inspect work sites for potential hazards and/or safety concerns, ensuring safe work environments and compliance with state, federal, OSHA, and company safety policies.
• Operate hydro excavation vacuum trucks and related equipment safely and efficiently.
• Excavate and remove soil and debris using hydro excavation techniques.
• Pothole existing utilities with precision and care.
• Ensure proper disposal of excavated materials.
• Track materials, aggregates, and project requirements.
• Communicate both orally and written, with local officials, company management and staff, customers, and other stakeholders.
• Report work status and any issues to the Construction and/or Project Manager daily.
• File complete and accurate paperwork daily.
• Ensure work sites have been adequately cleaned up and worksite is restored after work.
• Travel to and from assigned job sites.
• Additional responsibilities within functional scope based on business needs

Required Qualifications:

Education, Licensing, and Certifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)+ Tankers Endorsement
• DOT Medical Card

Skills and Abilities

• Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug test.
• Possess and maintain a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and project specifications related to utility location and excavation.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with crew, leadership, and customers.
• Ability to drive and operate company vehicles and hydro excavation equipment.
• Ability to ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory bodies’ safety standards.
• Ability to utilize proper safety equipment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with utility locating is highly desired.
• Bilingual Spanish and English speaking preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Stand / walk / bend / climb for extended periods
• Work performed - outdoors / in all weather conditions / in confined spaces / at heights / in live traffic zones
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment - background check / drug screen / MVR / physical
