Job summary

Pro-Pipe Services is seeking a Hydro Excavation Truck Operator for our Phoenix, AZ area to support pipeline cleaning and maintenance operations. This field-based role may require overnight travel up to 25% and entails operating water-jet and vacuum equipment safely.

You will perform daylighting, potholing, trenching, and debris removal, document work orders and DOT requirements, and work with a dedicated team to meet project deadlines in all weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• At least 1 year of experience in hydro vacuum excavation preferred.
• Minimum CDL Class B with tanker endorsement and DOT medical card.
• Must pass drug screen, MVR and background check.

Responsibilities

• Perform daylighting, potholing, trenching with pressurized water and vacuum systems.
• Dig trenches, holes and slots for construction and maintenance projects.
• Inspect and maintain equipment; complete required documentation and DOT requirements.
• Overnight travel up to 25% as needed.

Position Overview

We are seeking a Hydro Excavation Truck Operator to join our team at our Phoenix, AZ branch. This field-based position plays a key role in supporting our pipeline cleaning and maintenance operations and may require occasional overnight travel.

What You’ll Do

• Perform daylighting, potholing, trenching, and other excavation tasks using pressurized water and vacuum systems.
• Perform precise excavation tasks using high-pressure water to break up soil and vacuum systems to remove debris.
• Perform debris removal, slot trenching, daylighting, digging, line cleaning and camera inspections
• Dig trenches, holes, and slots for various construction, utility, and maintenance projects.
• Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance of equipment.
• Able to always put safety first while operating the hydro-excavation truck
• Must be able to communicate efficiently while working with coworkers
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
• Will be required to climb, kneel, and crawl through tight spaces as well as be comfortable in confined spaces
• Complete all required documentation e.g. online works orders, DOT requirements, etc.
• Follow all policies and procedures set out by the Company
• Perform other duties as assigned by manager or crew leader
• Overnight travel up to 25%, as needed

Required Qualifications

• Education & Experience:
• Must be at least 18 years old
• At least 1 year of experience in a Hydro Vacuum Excavation truck preferred
• Experience in the same industry is preferred
• Must possess a minimum CDL Class B with acceptable driving record and a tanker endorsement.
• Must have current DOT medical card.
• Experience working in all outdoor elements for extended periods of time.
• Safety certifications preferred but not required (eg. First Aid/CPR, Fall Protection, Confined Space)
• Must be able to pass a drug screen, MVR and background check
• Must work daily and weekend overtime as needed or assigned.
• Self-motivated, with the ability to work with minimal supervision
• Skills:
• Ability to read, write and accurately follow oral and written instructions
• Strong manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and attention to detail
• Ability to work in all weather conditions, confined spaces, isolation
• Ability to work in a physically demanding atmosphere
• Self-disciplined, motivated, organized, and a team player
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and repetitive tasks

Work Schedule

• Full-time, field-based role
• Overnight travel may be required depending on project assignments
