Job summary

Carolina Cat is seeking a hydraulics technician to troubleshoot, repair, recondition, rebuild and test Caterpillar and OEM hydraulic components such as cylinders, pumps, motors and valves. The role supports first and second shifts in Charlotte, NC, with hours spanning 6 am–2 pm or 1:30 pm–12 am.

The ideal candidate will have at least a high school diploma (or GED), 5 years of hydraulics experience, proficiency in English, a valid driver's license, and the ability to work safely in a dynamic shop

Qualifications

5 years of work experience in hydraulics or a related field.
Must read, write, and communicate in English as it relates to this job and safety regulations.
Must have a valid driver’s license.
Must meet the ergonomic and physical requirements for this position.
Must be able to use or learn to use the equipment and tools used to perform this job.

Responsibilities

Review work schedule and prepare for operations at shift start.
Disassembly and inspection of components for reuse or repair options using precision tools and specifications.
Verify findings, measurements and procedures to develop a repair plan.
Order or obtain parts from stock required to make repairs.
Prepare parts for reassembly using polishing, honing, buffing and cleaning tools.
Reassemble and test components and perform quality checks.
Write service reports within company systems.
Paint components and perform pressure washing when necessary.
Perform general housekeeping duties and complete required paperwork at shift end.
