Hydraulic Engineer

We are seeking a Hydraulics Design Engineer to support the development of transportation projects. Responsibilities include designing and analyzing open and closed storm drainage systems for linear transportation projects, hydraulic culvert/bridge design, and permitting. The candidate may also develop erosion and sediment pollution control plans and support the design efforts of the civil/highway team.

The Impact You Will Have

• Perform hydrology/hydraulic analysis for transportation project design and construction
• Design stormwater management systems and ponds
• Assist in fieldwork to verify existing site conditions

What You Will Need

• Minimum of eight (8) years of technical design experience in transportation projects
• B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
• PE license required; ability to obtain Tennessee PE
• Experience with MicroStation, GEOPAK drainage, and HEC-RAS
• Experience developing deliverables per TDOT standards (including BSR/CSR) is preferred
• Erosion and sediment pollution control design experience (TDOT Level III Certification a plus)
• Knowledge of TDOT Guidelines for Drainage Studies and Hydraulic Design
• Familiarity with FHWA Hydraulic Design Manual
• Experience working in a multidisciplinary engineering environment
• Strong teamwork, communication skills, and ability to develop complete, reviewable task deliverables
