Job summary

STV, Inc. in Raleigh, NC is seeking a Hydraulic Engineer to join our Transportation Group. You will lead design teams on AD projects, directing scope, budget, and personnel while ensuring code-compliant drainage solutions for municipalities and DOTs.

The ideal candidate has extensive hydrologic/hydraulic design experience, prior discipline lead roles, and strong client liaison skills, with PE licensure. OpenRoads Designer drainage experience is a plus and a valid driver's license is required.

Qualifications

  • Extensive Hydrologic and Hydraulic Design experience on AD Transportation Projects in the South Region.
  • Experience serving as a Discipline Lead / Sub-Discipline Lead / Deputy Lead on projects of varying size and complexity.
  • Experience acting as a client liaison.
  • Proven track record delivering Drainage designs for municipalities & DOTs in the South Region.
  • Strong leadership skills.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, direct, and supervise the work of a design team requiring organization of manpower and financial accountability.
  • Lead other engineers and design personnel in technical excellence and growth.
  • Provide technical consultations for interdisciplinary analytical studies and analyses.
  • Ensure design compliance with all applicable codes and regulations, providing PE seal when required by statute or contract.
  • Prepare material/equipment technical specifications.
  • Coordinate subconsultant work as necessary.
  • Maintain affiliation with professional societies to stay current with technologies.
  • Help determine budget estimates and staffing requirements for the defined scope and schedule.
  • May assist with other administrative and technical duties.
  • Perform other responsibilities as appropriate.

Job description

STV, Inc. has an exciting opportunity for a Hydraulics Engineer within our Transportation Group in Raleigh, NC.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Plan, direct, and supervise the work of a design team requiring organization of manpower and financial accountability.
  • Leads other engineers and design personnel in technical excellence and growth.
  • Provides technical consultations for interdisciplinary analytical studies and analyses.
  • Ensures compliance of design with all applicable codes and regulations, providing the seal and signature of the professional engineer when required by statute or contract.
  • Prepares material/equipment technical specifications.
  • Coordinate subconsultant work as necessary.
  • Maintains affiliation with professional societies to keep abreast of current technologies.
  • Help determine budget estimates and staffing requirements for the defined scope and schedule.
  • May assist with other administrative and technical duties.
  • Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Extensive Hydrologic and Hydraulic Design experience on AD Transportation Projects in the South Region.
  • Experience successfully serving as a Discipline Lead, Sub-Discipline Lead, or Deputy Discipline Lead on Projects of varying size and complexity.
  • Experience acting as a client liaison.
  • Proven track record of delivering Drainage designs for municipalities & DOT’s throughout the South Region.
  • Strong leadership skills.
Preferred Education/Experience
  • Accredited degree in Civil Engineering, Masters is a plus but not required.
  • Minimum of 10-15+ years of related work experience.
  • PE License Required.
Skills/Competencies
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills.
  • Experience in supervising and hiring staff.
  • OpenRoads Designer (ORD) Drainage & other commonly used H&H design software.
  • Must be able to drive a car and have own transportation.
  • Lead small to large Civil projects.
  • Support client relations management activities.
Compensation Range

$124,726.29 - $142,544.33
