Job summary

RFA Engineering is seeking a Mechanical Test Engineer- Hydraulics to join our engineering team in the United States. You will plan, set up, execute, and evaluate mechanical tests involving hydraulic components and systems, blending hands-on lab work with engineering analysis to determine performance and root cause issues.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, 2+ years of testing experience, and the ability to guide test plans, instrumentation, and data

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field.
• 2+ years of engineering or testing experience; master's plus 3+ years considered.
• Hands-on aptitude and experience with test hardware and lab equipment.
• Experience planning and executing mechanical component or system tests.
• Ability to analyze test data and translate results into actionable recommendations.
• Experience with failure/root cause analysis.

Responsibilities

• Lead hydraulic testing projects from planning through reporting.
• Develop test plans, instrumentation, and data collection.
• Set up hydraulic components, fixtures, hoses, sensors, and hardware.
• Operate test equipment safely with emphasis on quality and documentation.
• Analyze test data to evaluate performance and identify trends.
• Compare results with requirements and simulations; document conclusions.
• Communicate findings to engineers and lab leadership.
• Coordinate multiple test activities with minimal supervision.
• Support continuous improvement of testing methods and data analysis.
