Job summary

Oilgear is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer in Fremont, NE to provide technical ownership for hydraulic products from design evaluation through manufacturing, testing, and improvement. You will collaborate with Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, Sales, Service, customers and suppliers to enhance performance, manufacturability, cost and quality while maintaining thorough engineering documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field.
• 3–5 years of professional mechanical or design engineering in hydraulic/industrial environment.
• Experience leading engineering projects from concept to testing and implementation.
• Proficiency with 3D models, GD&T, specs, and tolerance stack-ups.
• Experience with product testing, data analysis, root cause analysis, and corrective action.
• Ability to work with shop-floor personnel to resolve design and production issues.
• Strong technical writing and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering projects for product improvements, cost reduction, supplier/ process qualification, and new features.
• Perform calculations, tolerance stack-ups, material selections, and design analyses.
• Create, review, and approve 3D models, drawings, specifications, BOMs, and related docs.
• Develop verification/validation plans and summarize results in technical reports.
• Investigate product performance issues and drive root cause analysis.
• Provide advanced technical support to Sales, Manufacturing, Quality, Service, Purchasing, and suppliers.
• Review designs for manufacturability and drive changes to improve safety, quality, lead time, and cost.
• Support manufacturing instructions, inspection criteria, process docs, and training materials.
• Support new product introductions on the shop floor with process validation.
