Job summary

SunSource, a leading industrial distributor, is seeking a Hydraulic Systems Engineer in Seattle to design and support hydraulic solutions for industrial and mobile equipment. You will work hands-on with customers and sales teams to ensure proper application and performance.

Responsibilities include designing hydraulic systems, power units, and complete systems from concept to implementation, plus field troubleshooting to reduce downtime. Travel across WA/OR/UT/ID is required.

Qualifications

Minimum 2-year technical degree (Fluid Power preferred).
BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is a plus.
2+ years of experience designing hydraulic systems or applications for industrial/mobile equipment.
Strong foundation in fluid power principles and system design.
Ability to balance performance, reliability, and cost in solutions.
Experience with AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
Fluid Power Certification preferred.
Willingness to travel to support customers and sales teams in WA, OR, UT, ID.

Responsibilities

Design innovative hydraulic systems for industrial and mobile equipment applications.
Engineer power units and complete hydraulic systems from concept through implementation.
Partner with customers to understand applications, gather data, and confirm designs.
Troubleshoot field challenges and develop proactive solutions to reduce warranty claims.
Collaborate with Account Managers to support customers and drive long-term success.
Apply creativity and technical expertise to deliver cost-effective, high-performance solutions.
