Hydraulic Sales Specialist - Southeastern Region

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

As a member of the sales team, develop new business opportunities through our distribution channel to drive growth and exceed targets such as: sales growth at a minimum of 3% above industry average, margin, accounts receivable, and cost management. Be a key part of the segment team to develop and execute our distribution strategy to maximize BA Industrial Solutions Americas' profitable growth and market share. Drive customer centricity across the BA organization to establish a preference and premium for our products and solutions, positioning ContiTech as the preferred partner in the industrial distribution market.

This position supports our Southeastern Region, covering North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Texas. It is a remote role; candidates must reside within the territory and within one hour of a major airport. The role entails 50% travel with overnight stays.

  • Develop and implement segment strategy within your responsibility area, including deployment across teams.
  • Manage customer acquisition, contracts, business proposals, and commercial negotiations.
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with customers.
  • Lead the business to achieve targets for volume, sales, growth, market share, and EBIT.
  • Gather customer feedback on forecasts and coordinate with operations and SCM.
  • Provide market insights, including customer, competitor, and trend analysis.
  • Gather customer satisfaction feedback and escalate issues for improvements.
  • Promote customer centricity actively within the segment.
  • Design technical applications and recommend improvements.
  • Troubleshoot application and performance issues.
  • Provide technical training to customers and internal teams.
  • Identify technical needs and customer pain points to drive innovation.

YOUR PROFILE

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a technical field, or 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • At least 5 years of hydraulic hose sales experience.
  • Proven success in converting major customers from competitors and managing business cases.
  • Strong sales and relationship management skills.
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint and presentation skills.
  • Financial literacy in managing sales, margins, costs, and working capital.
  • High emotional intelligence and cultural sensitivity.
  • Knowledge of diverse industrial markets.
  • Experience in business planning and forecasting.
  • Ability to execute the full sales cycle to acquire new customers and business.
  • Travel availability of at least 50%.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.; no visa sponsorship provided.
  • No relocation assistance offered.

ADDITIONAL QUALITIES THAT STAND OUT

  • Strong hydraulics product knowledge.
  • Minimum 1 year experience in R&D, applications engineering, or sales engineering.
  • Knowledge of industrial rubber products (hoses, conveyor systems, air springs).

The annual salary range is $90,630 - $106,300, plus eligibility for a variable incentive. Salaries depend on skills, experience, and market factors.
