Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional experience on heavy equipment, trucks, or hydraulic systems.
• Strong hydraulic troubleshooting and repair experience.
• Experience with hydraulic pumps, motors, valves, cylinders, hoses, and fittings.
• Ability to read and understand hydraulic schematics.
• Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with diesel engines and heavy equipment preferred.
• Ability to diagnose problems independently.
• Use of diagnostic tools and testing equipment.

Job Description

TNT Services is looking for an experienced Hydraulic & Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our growing team. We are looking for a mechanic who knows how to diagnose problems, not just replace parts.

This position is ideal for an experienced technician with strong knowledge of hydraulic systems, heavy trucks, fleet equipment, and heavy equipment who can work independently and keep equipment operating safely and efficiently.

What You'll Do

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain hydraulic systems on trucks and heavy equipment
• Diagnose hydraulic pumps, motors, valves, cylinders, hoses, fittings, and related components
• Troubleshoot hydraulic and electrical problems
• Repair and maintain PTO and truck-mounted hydraulic systems
• Diagnose equipment failures and determine the root cause of problems
• Perform preventive maintenance and inspections
• Read and understand hydraulic schematics and system diagrams
• Repair, replace, and rebuild hydraulic components as needed
• Perform mechanical repairs on trucks, heavy equipment, and fleet equipment
• Assist with fabrication, welding, and equipment modifications when needed
• Maintain accurate records of repairs and parts used
• Respond to equipment issues and minimize equipment downtime
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
• Follow all company safety procedures and requirements

What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who can walk up to a piece of equipment that isn't working, diagnose the problem, and determine what needs to be done to get it back in service.

Ideal Candidates Will Have

• 3+ years of professional experience working on heavy equipment, trucks, or hydraulic systems
• Strong hydraulic troubleshooting and repair experience
• Experience working with hydraulic pumps, motors, valves, cylinders, hoses, and fittings
• Ability to read and understand hydraulic schematics
• Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
• Experience with diesel engines and heavy equipment is strongly preferred
• Ability to diagnose problems independently
• Ability to use diagnostic tools and testing equipment
• Strong attention to detail
• Good communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently while also being part of a team
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record

THIS IS NOT JUST A PARTS-CHANGER POSITION

We need a diagnostic mechanic.

If you can identify why a hydraulic system is losing pressure, determine whether the problem is a pump, valve, cylinder, hose, control system, or another component, and make the repair correctly the first time, we want to talk to you.

Experience with truck-mounted equipment, dump bodies, PTO systems, pressure washing equipment, snow equipment, aerial equipment, or other hydraulic-powered equipment is a major plus.

Pay & Benefits

$35-$40 per hour, depending on experience and skill level

Exceptional candidates with advanced hydraulic diagnostic and repair experience may be considered above the posted range.
