Job summary

Oilgear is seeking an Industrial Field Service Technician to support hydraulic systems at customer sites in the US. The role involves diagnosing malfunctions, performing repairs, and coordinating with engineering for improvements, with travel to Western PA and OH regions and nationwide as needed.

Responsibilities include diagnosing hydraulic/electronic systems, generating service reports, and promoting Oilgear upgrades.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3–5 years of experience with industrial hydraulic systems focusing on service, diagnostics and troubleshooting.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Experience and understanding of hydraulically operated machinery, including pumps and valves.
• Ability to read and interpret hydraulic schematics and basic electrical drawings.
• Strong communication skills to resolve technically challenging problems with customers and internal teams.
• Ability to travel up to 75% (domestic) and overnight/multi-day travel expected.
• Valid driver’s license and successful background check.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer sites to provide service for hydraulic equipment.
• Diagnose problems and work with relevant departments to provide timely solutions.
• Operate computer-based diagnostic equipment for hydraulic/electronic systems.
• Develop service reports and complete required paperwork in a timely manner.
• Read and troubleshoot hydraulic schematics; diagnose and repair equipment efficiently.
• Explain product usage to customers and conduct customer training as needed.
• Stay informed about new hydraulic technologies and procedures.
• Identify upgrade opportunities during customer installations and provide feedback to engineers.
• Travel and/or work in Oilgear facilities as needed to support operations.
