Job summary

KLH Engineers, Inc. in Pittsburgh is seeking a Hydraulic Engineer to lead the design and optimization of water distribution and sewer systems. You will apply hydraulic and hydrologic modeling to improve performance and reliability.

You’ll contribute with a team of engineers, surveyors, and drafters, using InfoWater, EPANET, InfoSWMM, PCSWMM, and EPA SWMM, and communicate results to clients while balancing practicality and creativity. A BS is required; 3+ years in hydraulic modeling; MS is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in civil/environmental/water resources required; Master’s preferred.
• 3+ years of hydraulic/hydrologic modeling experience.
• Strong hydraulics/hydrology fundamentals and data interpretation.
• Proficiency with InfoWater/EPANET/InfoSWMM/PCSWMM/EPA SWMM and Excel.
• Client-facing engineering, collaboration, and data-driven decisions.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and optimization of water distribution, stormwater, and sewer systems.
• Apply hydraulic modeling to create sustainable solutions.
• Analyze data and run simulations to optimize performance.
• Provide data-driven recommendations and communicate results to clients.
• Model with tools like InfoWater/EPANET/InfoSWMM/PCSWMM for scenarios.
