Job summary

Larimer County Economic & Workforce Development (LCEWD) is seeking a Youth Career Specialist to provide direct, intensive case management for WIOA inCompass youth ages 16–24 in Southern Larimer County, including Loveland and Berthoud.

The role combines in-person work in community spaces with virtual support, focusing on eligibility, counseling, career exploration, job search strategies, and community referrals.

Qualifications

• Direct experience working with youth in case management, counseling or mentoring.
• Ability to work with a wide range of socioeconomic backgrounds.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and deadlines.
• Team player with cross-functional collaboration.
• Knowledge of employment counseling fundamentals (resume, interviewing, networking).
• Demonstrated empathy and conflict management skills.
• Flexible and adaptable to changes.
• Digital literacy: Google, Zoom, Excel, Jot, Adobe.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one case management for a caseload of WIOA inCompass youth facing employment/education challenges.
• Maintain accurate case documentation and data entry in compliance with policies.
• Assist with connecting participants to diploma/ GED opportunities, internships, and post-secondary education.
• Counsel on career exploration and identify training paths.
• Coordinate with other youth services providers for continuity of care and referrals.
• Support CareerRise events and youth programming and outreach.
