Job summary

Janus Henderson Global Investors is seeking a flexible WordPress engineer to build and maintain an enterprise WordPress multisite platform. You will create PHP plugins and React blocks for data display, implement frontend across multiple themes, and integrate with third‑party APIs while collaborating with designers and engineers.

You will work in a hybrid environment, contributing to a team that values scalable code, security, and continuous delivery.

Qualifications

• Proficient in PHP and WordPress plugin/theme development.
• Experience with WordPress multisite.
• JavaScript ES6+ with React for Gutenberg/Block Editor development.
• SCSS/CSS and responsive design implementation.
• Able to work across local, dev, test, and production environments.
• Experience with Git, branching strategies, and code review.
• Ability to work independently and communicate blockers early.
• Familiarity with Composer and npm-based tooling.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum teams using Jira for planning and tracking.
• Comfort using AI coding assistants as part of daily workflow.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain features on an enterprise WordPress multisite platform.
• Develop custom PHP plugins and Gutenberg/Block Editor blocks (React) for data display and workflows.
• Implement frontend designs across themes using SCSS and JavaScript.
• Integrate with third‑party APIs and services including DAM, marketing automation, and SSO.
• Debug and resolve issues across Docker, dev, test, and production environments on WordPress VIP.
• Collaborate with designers, editors, and engineers to scope and deliver features.
• Carry out other duties as assigned.
