Job summary

Duke Energy in Florida seeks an Emergency Preparedness Manager - Wildfire to lead wildfire mitigation planning, readiness, and response within Power Grid Operations. You will coordinate cross-functional teams to translate risk-informed strategies into field actions and ensure preparedness for incidents that could affect service or public safety.

This role interfaces with Operations, Meteorology, and external agencies, delivering updates, training, drills, and after-action reviews while driving

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Engineering Technology is required.
• Six or more years of related work experience, or ten or more years with a High School/GED as a substitute.
• Desired degrees include Fire Protection Engineering, Forestry, Meteorology or related field.

Responsibilities

• Lead regional implementation and execution of wildfire mitigation and readiness plans.
• Coordinate reviews, drills, and after-action evaluations to test wildfire readiness.
• Ensure integration with Corporate Communications, Regulatory Affairs, and Government relations.
• Prepare operational updates, leadership briefings, and data responses for wildfire programs.
• Identify process improvements to enhance wildfire mitigation performance.
